Who knows best… one for the pros.. my last step

Hi, i have created a website for my secondary school. I have one final section left to complete. The last section randonly generates a pupil (male or female) from the school. Other pupils in the school then can click the “Meet Me” button if they want to meet the person in the photo. Each user must be logged in to use this service.

My question is… What is the best way to build or design this final part. If someone clicks the Meet Me button, what is the best way to build or design this…. I was thinking of getting the details of the user who clicked the button, from the database and automatically emailing them onto the person in the photo. Then he or she will recieve an email with the persons photo and details. This person (who recieved the email) can then click Yes or No (via a link) in their email. If they click Yes an email is sent back to the person who requested to meet the them, with their personal email address (then it is all up to them to Meet). If they click the No link an email is sent back to the person telling them they are busy.

Does anyone have any better methods or solutions for this section. I would love to be able to have it all built into the site, so when the user clicks into their “my account” section, i could add on a section where the persons Meet Me’s are” but i am unsure what way to design or build it like this. Is the first option (emailing) the best way to design such a section…??? Please Please Please help as i have been stuck on this section for nearly a month now and i am getting no where with it, any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Generating the random person is easy

Sending the email request to meet someone is easy

You could have a link in the email that would like to a page on the server with a script that would authorize or deny the request...such a link could be like this: youdomain.com/meet-request.php?requester=user1&requestee=user2&authorization=yes (or authorization = no)

From this point you can email the requester the appropriate information (pulled from requestee's info in the database) or a generic "sorry" message.
