Hi everyone.
Just wondering if anyone can advise if they have ever heard of anythign similar to this.
I work for the NHS in the UK and due to the data protection act, we have a (very poor) web based access tracking system which states what a person has access to (Different confidential and person identifying areas on our UNIX servers, Databases etc). This takes a not of when their access starts and ends and emails them a month and a fortnight when their access is due to expire, then once it expires we are emailed. Currently we have huge amounts of paper wastage as every request for access comes in on a paper form.
I’m sure I could design a system which would be far superior to this in PHP but I’m thinking it would be pointless if there was a system out there which would take care of authorisation (In the sense of authorising access to the network areas, not the actual system), Emailing, even having a basic staff login for staff to check their access.
Can anyone think of something which would do this? SSL not important but it should connect to an already existing oracle DB.
Thanks in advance.
