Create/Destroy Elements

Ok, if anyone has used Gmail, you’ve seen the Attach Files link when you’re composing a new message.

I’m basically needing a script that will do this for me; create a new text input and then a link that when clicked will destroy that element.

I had a script for this a LONG time ago, unfortunately I lost it ?.

@ricpApr 16.2007 — You will be looking for two DOM methods; createElement and removeChild.


create:

var foo = document.createElement("input");

foo.type = "text";

foo.value = "I am generated content";

foo.id = "mytext";

document.body.appendChild(foo);


destroy:

var foo = document.getElementById("mytext");

foo.parentNode.removeChild(foo);
