customizing select box

Hi

Can someone please tell me how i can apply the same styles to a “select” box as I can to a regular text field?

.textField{
border:1px solid #000000;
height:14px;
padding:0px 0px 2px 0px;
}

I should note that the desired effect works in FireFox, but not in IE
