JS slide show loading?

Is there a way to have a slideshow on the main page that does not load the graphics with the page? Some sort of hover or click to begin the load and the show at the same time?

I have a logo and on each side of it I want an auto fading slide show of about 100 jpgs that are 125px each, times two. As it sits, every pageload grabs 3 megs of bandwidth for it. I would guess only a few users would actually want to see it.

Or maybe have it pageload 10 on each side and they have to ask for the rest?
I dunno, some way of using less bandwidth.

@Mr_JMar 25.2007 — Another idea could be to have a longer pause between images, say 1 or even 2 minites and have the visitor click a link to set it back for normal viewing

@rackauthorMar 25.2007 — I understand the concept! Good one.

I am using <marquee> now that it has begun working in all browsers.

A command in marquee to hold the loading until clicked would sure be the easy way of solving this, let me tell you! ?

Those js options like -loadOn- or something, and how would I apply that?

Can you apply a one line option of js to a page?

Success!
