[RESOLVED] shorthand for equivalency and multiple values?

is there a shorthand way of doing the following?
if(typeof variable==’boolean’ || typeof bFormatted==’undefined’){}
what i mean is something like this…
if(typeof variable==(‘boolean’ || ‘undefined’)){}
@bcamp1973authorMar 13.2007 — i just discovered this works for only two values...

if(value ? 'foo' : 'bar') {}

...but what if there are more than two values to choose from?

@mjdamatoMar 13.2007 — Use the switch() function.
<i>
</i>switch (value) {

case 'foo':
case 'bar':
case 'axe':
case 'car':
//do something
break;

default:
// put your "else" actions here or leave off if no else
break;
}

@bcamp1973authorMar 13.2007 — I wondered if that was the only answer ? Thanks!
