Can’t open windows in IE7?

I’m sure somebody has made this question before, but I can’t find it.

When I use the window.open() function in IE7 it opens a new tab, not a popup window. I really use Opera and in this navigator and in the FF the function works fine.

Is there a way to make this work in IE7?

"Always open popups in a new tab"
