JavaScript redetecting content type

Hi all,

I have a JavaScript popup window that I promptly overwrite with the content of an XML file (NOTE: this is NOT a real, static file; I’m actually calling the JavaScript function from a Java Applet that is sending the function a String with the entire XML file I want). The problem is, after I do the overwrite, it doesn’t display like an XML file usually does in Internet Explorer.

I suspect that it needs to somehow reevaluate the content type AFTER loading, but I cannot find anything on how to do that. Keep in mind, I’m not picky about XML; it could .CSV as well. The whole point of this is so that I can send data from an Applet to a browser window, which can then in turn be saved by the browser as some kind of useful data file (NOT HTML).

I tried mucking around with META tags, but no luck.

ANY help in this line would be appreciated. Thanks.
