I am running a dynamic slideshow on a machine where the files are all on the local hdd. I have so far learned the basics of javascript, and also a little bit of loops, links, arrays, dom’s and functions but I am still lacking one thing.

There is a timer object in javascript.
Set it to run a function at set intervals.
From the function check the images folder to find if any flash files beyond currently loaded exists, if yes load it, else load the first one
the reason for this is because the files in the “images” folder on the hdd are always changing and I need the slideshow to recognize that and basically mirror that folder.
this is all on a windows XP and/or MCE box and it is for a local slideshow only.
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
