need some suggestions…

alright, i have my personal site, ~~[url=http://dawarriah.universalpalace.net]~~DaWarriah.Net[/url], and i like the design it has now, but its getting old…and now i need some suggestions for a new design…(besides the fact that it doesnt validate at the moment…im doing that for version 3)…the current design is cool IMO, but its kind of….trendwhorish, if im allowed to use that word ?

so does anyone have any suggestions for a NEW design, something thats simple, but original and creative…and preferrably not using flash, lol, i find that thing a pain to update, not to mention adding something like a new link, etc…its too much of a hassle for what its worth…

any suggestions?

That's the complete listing of people who have the attempts at the CSS Zen Garden "challenge." Amazingly, the HTML for all lof those pages are the same HTML file, but just the externally linked CSS file is different. Anyway, some of the designs are really cool and I have have begun taking bits and pieces of some of the stuff they do and playing around with it myself.

@spufiJul 24.2003 — #Well they do ask for graphic designers to attempt it and I'll agree that try to make that quality of graphics is beyond me at this time. It still doesn't mean I haven't feebly tried to do my own version of it though. Like I said, just take ideas and see what you can use even if it's just the layout itself you like.

now i know i havent changed the tables to divs yet, havent gotten around to switching it over...im mostly asking for suggestions on the logo...so what do you think about it? save or scrap?

@spufiJul 25.2003 — #Don't use a frame/iframe for your news section. I don't really see the need for it off hand beyond having a set height with your layout. Let the news section fill up the whole middle area and not a set width. I know my resolution is not the norm, but at a width of 1400, you have a large empty space to the right of your frame/iframe. I know it looks good in more normal resolutions so you have that set. Just use percent values for your widths instead of a set number.

i havent gotten around to changing the layout from v2 to v3 yet, except for the color...i still have to change it to div's...and the reason i used iframes for v2 was because i had a bunch of images on the main page that was slowing it down...so i decided to make it as streamlined as possible so it wouldnt have to load those images over and over, every time the page reloaded...however, im using less images for v3, or at least i plan to, so ill use includes and such...thanx for the input anyways?

I know I got to go back and look up one of the layouts because they used a CSS property that I had never seen used before and it's a very cool thing to use. Now if I can remember just what layout that was. There's only 31 to sort through. :p

@PeOfEoJul 27.2003 — #Thats true it is systematic but most people get confused looking at numbers and might only have one file or maybe two so they will go layout.css or mycode.css or something.css so you gotta look in your history, I do this quite often to figure out how people are doign things. I consider myself a css newb when it comes to layouts, so thats how I learn.
