Keyword phrase with or without hyphens

Pick a phrase people might use. Say, one man band. Or is it one-man-band. A friend is telling me to put in meta tags key phrases, not just words. So for a keyword phrase, would it be like this in meta tag…

phrase, one man band, phrase

or this…

phrase, one-man-band, phrase

???

I guess it would depend on how people type it? And I don’t know the answer. How could I find out?

@KDLAFeb 06.2007 — Most people will leave out the hyphens.

You can put both in your keywords. I sometimes include misspellings of difficult words. (like our church is called "Immanuel" I would include Emmanuel and Immanual.)
