Im thinking about doing this layout in Flash. It would envolve the main area where the main image would be displayed. The left sidebar would be where several main images would be. By clicking on one of them, 1 main image would appear. Below the main image would be smaller images concerning this main image, with descriptions.
Is this possible? Is it complicated to do in Flash? Will it resort to frames for it?

I thought about using CSS and HTML exclusively but this is for a presentation that is going to be sent to customers. It could be possible yes, making the index.html, or home.html to autorun from the CD, or just clicking on the web page itself, but the problem is that I believe most of the customers are stuck with Internet Explorer, the 6th version…
And thats why I think this would be better suited with a Flash app. I may be wrong here, but most people should have flash player installed on their PCs, and I also could provide an .exe file of the flash player.
This menu I sketched seems like a good layout, because the digital catalog must have main images and inside the main images they should have smaller images with descriptions. I don’t know if Im making sense.
It’s about ceramic design, and the main image is the line of products and the smaller images are each image in the main image (the line).
Im still trying to figure it out the best way of presenting this, because the previous designer who did other catalogues is a ceramic designer specific and she did it in PowerPoint. Since im the new guy on the company Im expected to come up with some sort of different and better solution. Im not sure if Im going the right way.
