[RESOLVED] Link coding practices

Hi Folks, I’m new here.

I’ve been reading some SEO stuff lately and Google seems to like a lot of links on websites.

I’m a self-taught hand-coder and once I’d done a couple sites I realised I needed a way of not having to duplicate code every time common elements needed to appear on new pages.

Enter PHP includes. What it means is I can have just one file with say a menu in. Each time I want to add a new menu item I can just add it once there instead of editing 50 pages individually to reflect the change across all pages.

My question now is when Google crawls my site, will the links be ‘included’ in each page as if I had coded links on each page, or will it only see the single file with the links in.

If it is the latter, I assume it will hurt my rankings?

Any advice much appreciated ?
Cheers.

@CharlesJan 16.2007 — Google will see the pages as if they were sent to the browser; it doesn't see the source code.
