nav bar loading external html in main window

Hi!

I am going to start on a new projekt in a few days, and i want to do it like this:

When you enter the index page, I will have one div with a nav bar, and one div with content. When you press the internal links on the site, you will still be on the index page, but the contents of the content div is changing. I guess I have to use som javascript whit this, but is there anyone who have a source code I could look at so that I might understand something. Not wery formiliar with javascript, but pretty formiliar with html and css.
A couple of words about it wouldn’t hurt either…
