hai friends I have uploaded the video file to server .we need to get the total time of playing file duration and store the values to database. how can i get the total time for uploaded video file?
@MrCoderJan 05.2007 — #It depends on the format of the video, I would assume there is a third party piece of software for the OS of the web server that would handle the video files and be able to pass back the required information.

There is a package out there that works great on audio files and supports some video files. It may be what you need. You'll have to see if your formats are supported. See: http://getid3.sourceforge.net/
If not, you can look inside the code and maybe figure out ways to apply the techniques to the format you need.
