@ForeverIriseDec 30.2006 — #Depends what your target audience (or job preference) is. If it is for a more formal bigwig company, you might consider clean cut and minimal to none animation (i.e. flash, roll-overs, etc.).

That is the way I look about it. You also might want to look at some info regarding different fonts and colors to use. You don't want to come off as being too aggressive or to passive just by the look and feel of your site. Colors and fonts can work magic, just like they do on business cards.

Now if you are looking for a more tech based company, give a go at different programing languages and maybe some more use of animation.

Like I said, it all depends on what your initial intent of your personal site is.

What I'd suggest is go around browsing for "personal" sites and see what they have on there. A lot will have a resume link and what not, but see what else they are putting up and if you see some sort of trend that they all have.

Good luck with your search and always remember, we are not all the same and your website doesn't have to either. A lot of the time being different is what catches others attention.
