File Uploads & Max Execution Time

So if I have a 10 MB file (and I know that php will allow a download that large) that I am uploading to my website (via php script), on a dial-up connection, with a max_execution_time of 30 seconds, my script is going to blow up, right?

Is there any elegant way around this, besides changing max_execution_time to 99999? This is an extreme case, but I believe it explains the problem.

Thanks in advance

@intriviousauthorDec 11.2006 — I have been looking around a while, and I still have not found any other solutions besides increasing the max_execution_time.

Any other ideas?

@intriviousauthorDec 12.2006 — Thanks for replying, but I did ask if there was another way besides dealing with max_execution_time.

Any ideas?

@MeniDec 13.2006 — since your problem arrises from the max_execution_time, i see no other way...

@LuboxDec 13.2006 — But will the upload time be considered? I thought it would take effect when the script is actually started which would be after the upload is complete?
