Problem with html layout, layout running.

Hi, i’m trying to design a website. What i did was to design a flash header. The navigation for the website is on the flash header and on a different frame. My problem is that i cant seem to align both frames properly. Is there a easier way to go about this problem.

** There are bugs in the flash header. I am working on it.

@KDLADec 07.2006 — (FYI -- developing navigation in Flash is a bad idea. If the viewer doesn't have the appropriate program version/plug-in, they won't be able to navigate your website.)

I suggest you avoid frames, and try to set this up as one HTML document. This page should help you.

@crazycoderDec 07.2006 — a study says about 97% of all internet enabled computers have flash. That's greater than shockwave and quicktime and java.

@KDLADec 08.2006 — Do what you want, but most usability studies will prove something to the contrary, as will many of the forum members here. I've been reviewing websites here for quite a while, and have seen, over and over, reviews stating that Flash for any of the "essential" portions of your webpage is generally poor business practice.

Good Luck -

Exactly. My biggest problem with flash is this. Screen readers skip it.

If a flash animation has sound, and it auto cued to start upon loading,

a blind or sight impaired person might not be able to stop it.

How about a blind person trying to access an all-flash website?

KDLA is right. Don't use it for a critical site function... If anybody is missing the plugin, they're finished right then and there. They'll have to go download the plugin. If they have to do that, they might lose interest in your site by the time they're done. Especially if the flash involved is simple. I've even done that. Installed the plugin, and gone "I installed that for THIS!?  "

It's not good business practice. My sister's boyfriend is a professional web developer and programmer. He has two friends who've been working with flash since the first beta version was released. They're experts with it, but... They won't make a website for a client with it. Basically, they think it's cool, but they've said it's horrible for making an accessible, professional site.

This is coming from the experts now. I agree that it's cool, but...

Sorry if this is off topic. ?

I dont think i can use flash to navigate CSS pages. I do not want my header to change for every page. Only the page content. Is there any other way...

@KDLADec 08.2006 — You can try PHP, which works sort of like a frame, in that it calls certain design elements that you've created as separate entities into the document. Thus, you only have to design once, and only work on adding content.
