@so_is_thisNov 26.2006 — Have you checked your site and/or server error logs for messages pertaining to this problem? Some sites don't display error messages back to the client. Instead, such error messages are placed in a log file.

@so_is_thisNov 26.2006 — Even on your local computer there could be error logs. Have you ever seen PHP error messages returned in your browser before -- when running from your local computer?

@so_is_thisNov 26.2006 — Well, I see one problem in the HTML. You have a <body> tag after all of your content. This could certainly confuse the browser. You gotta make sure your HTML is valid before you look at anything else.

@franknuauthorNov 26.2006 — it is updating the problem that i have now is that it is replacing all the data that was there. i need to show the data that is there already

  • - This line :

  • 1. echo "<a href="update.php?update">update</a>";

  • - You want to update records using this

  • 2. if(isset($_GET['update'])) {//updating}

  • The (2.) statement will not execute, because $_GET value of update on line (1.) is false.

    you need to give some value to "update", may line (1.) become

    1. echo "<a href="update.php?update=true">update</a>";
    ×

    Success!
