howto call a asmx webservice from javascript

Hi,

i’m trying to call a webwervice (asmx) from my javascript.
I had an example, but it doesn’t work ?
first question is what the url is, is this the way?
[url]http://website/WebServices/Service.asmx/GetListOfCountries[/url]

or this?
[url]http://website/WebServices/Service.asmx?GetListOfCountries[/url]

then i do this:
objHttp.open(“POST”, Url, true);
objHttp.setRequestHeader(“Content-Type”, “application/x-www-form-urlencoded”);
objHttp.send(strEnvelope);

where the strEnvelope is the soap request which i got from the webservice documentation.

Am i somewhere close???
