IE7 don’t handle quoets?

Hi,

Does Microosft’s Internet Explorer 7 really not support quotes!?
blockquote q {
quotes: “« ” ” »” “‘” “‘”;
}
IE7 is the only Web browser I could find that does not insert « the quotations mark properly. » In fact it does not insert them at all!

Have a look at this blog post in Opera or Firefox and then in IE7.

Suggestions on work around methods?

Update: Safari 2 does not display the space following my quotations mark. How to fix this?

@MoldarinauthorNov 17.2006 — I did not like the first solution, where you should remove the style sheet's handling and add the quotations mark manually.

This CSS hack caused more problems than solutions.

And using JavaScript to fix typography? Come on! There really must be better solutions out there?
