PHP.ini question

Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but what do I need to change in the php.ini file to get PHP to give me information about the errors it encounters? For some reason, since I re-installed it, it’s just giving me a blank screen when there’s something wrong with the code. ?
Please and thanks!

@NogDogNov 13.2006 — Look for the "display_errors" setting. You may also want to change the default value for "error_reporting". See http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.errorfunc.php#ini.display-errors for info on those and related error settings.
