VAR to a function

Hello,

i wanna reference a function to a variable, like a=function()
Example below:

function key(){
var a=event.keyCode;
var b=atool();
if (a==13){b}}

This does not work !!How must this be done ?? ?

if (a==13){b()}
}
In JavaScript functions and variables are really the same thing and "()" is really a call operator.
