Hello. I’m struggling with the Information Bar in IE that has been around since XP sp2.
I have a website that pops up a new window showing an imbedded Google Map. The user has the option of clicking on a button, and the window contents change to a custom map viewer (by replacing the source url of the document). Finally, the user has the option of clicking on an icon, which downloads a Google Earth .kml file of their location. So far so good.
With IE, when the user clicks the Google Earth icon, the IE information bar prompts them if it’s OK to download the file. I don’t mind this. But what happens is, if the user clicks Download File, the window reinitializes back to the [U]original
Is there any way to stop IE from completely reinitializing the window contents? Why can’t it just download the file when the user gives the OK???
Any help appreciated.
