Creating css from existing page or site

Good Morning:

I have a site with about 1500 pages based on tables which has been produced over the past couple of years using Front Page and Dreamweaver MX.

As time has gone on I have discovered (from reading this forum) that css should have been used instead of tables but have a major problem because of the number of pages involved.

Is there any way that I can make/create css for the basic page from the existing page and then change only the text and photos of each page?

I suspect that this question will clearly indicate my lack of understanding and knowledge about css but feel I need to ask it in any case – “the awareness of ignorance is the beginning of knowledge”

Cheers

Jack

@ray326Oct 29.2006 — It depends on just how badly interwined the content and presentation are and how consistent the look of the pages are. If every page has the useful content within a small number (<5?) of easily recognizable table cells then it's a large task, otherwise it's a Herculean task.
