JS and Txt Files

After a lot of messing about I finally have a page with a horizontal drop down menu which I am pretty chuffed with as it represents a real advance for me however before trying to include this on the remainder of the pages (over 1500) I want to include the script in a file so the pages only need a reference to this file. The script is quite long and I am sure I read someplace that it can be put in a separate file but can’t find any reference to this subject having read a lot of posts this morning.

I might be wrong but I have the impression that some of the members of this forum have photographic memories and will be able to point me in the right direction.

Please keep it simple because I have practically no experience with codes or coding – more trial and error. The 1500 pages were produced with Front Page and Dreamweaver so the number of pages do represent any real knowledge.

Cheers

Jack

@KravvitzOct 25.2006 — I suggest you read this article.

http://apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php

I have a much higher opinion of the Suckerfish Menu System than this author, however, he does explain the pitfalls of DHTML menus well.

You can just put the JavaScript code that you normally put inside the <script> element in a file with the ".js" extension, e.g "example.js". Then you would like to it with
&lt;script type="text/javascript" src="example.js"&gt;&lt;/script&gt;

Success!
