how to get a hidden js variable in next html page

Good afternoon.

I am using javascript variable passing in html pages.
in the previous page, setting the value:

[CODE]<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=”JavaScript”>
var str = “”;
str += ‘ <input type=”hidden” name=”textID” value=”‘ + textID + ‘”>’;
document.write(str);
</SCRIPT>[/CODE]

what should i do in the next page to get this hidden value by using javascript? is there any function in javascript that is simular as request.getParameter?
