I’m trying to add sound to my webpage. I have done this multiple times before. Typically <embed> commands work for firefox and sometimes IE so I usually add <bgsound> as a fail safe. I did that today, and both commands cause windows media player or a quicktime or realplayer icon to appear on the page, and I don’t understand why.

So I have a few questions for anyone who can help…

1) How do I stop an icon/media player from appearing on the screen?
I did have controls=”false” inside the commands as well as autostart=”true”

2) Is there a way to call a sound using CSS?? I would prefer to do it this way if it were possible.

THANKS VERY VERY MUCH!!

@WebArtOct 15.2006 — Well, i have a website with music in the background and have no problem.

Here is my code- (Note that the music or sound file is in my images file-take that out if your file is in your main file where your HTML files is) - The loop can also be set.

<bgsound src="images/iftomorrowbg.mp3" loop="5">

Hope it helps
