Photoshop Website Layout/DW Buttons

Help! Hello. I have been designing websites using Dreamweaver for years and as of recent have realized my design potential will be greater using Photoshop to lay out my design and sections and than bring it into my editing program. My problem is after I create an image in PS, I want to use Dreamweaver to create my links over the design..?? But, this will need to be created in tables or maybe layers and I am worried it will not allow me to line it up correctly or even move with different browsers/size?? How do I bring my PS image/website design into Dreamweaver and create the links over it and keep it in place?? Thanks

@abzOct 15.2006 — Do you mean crating a website as an image in photoshop, then overlaying an image map for the links?

this is a terrible way to make websites. Reasons are never ending. users cant enlarge or copy text, search engines cant read your site content so you will get very little attention from them. From an accessibility point of view, it is a disaster also. Anyone who uses a screen reader would find the site to be completely empty. Loading times would be high too.

By all means use photoshop to create graphics to enhance the look of your site, but the site functionality shoud not be dependent on the images.

If you really want to do it anyway, then I guess you could put the image into a table, and align the image map over it. But I have very ittle experience with that so not much help.

sorry if my reply wasnt what you wanted!

@The_Little_GuyOct 15.2006 — You would want to place your layout image(s) in a div (for one image) OR multiple divs (two or more images).

I suggest that you use absolute positioning to do this, you can then place the text, and links anywhere on top of your image(s).
