hello everyone; not sure if this is the place but i have to start somewhere. i have a website that i did not develope and the developer has passed away. i am trying to change the password, but am told by my hosting company that the password is encrypted by javascript. how do i find out the code? how can i change the password. need your help!

@The_MagusSep 30.2006 — This has nothing to do with sorting out the Java Script but I think if I had the complete web site on my computer, I would use a program such WinHHTrack to download the site to my computer as a back up (this would only download linked files and images).

I would then ask the hosting company to wipe the server of all material, change the user name and password and start over uploading from the files I had on my computer.

You could probably even upload the files you downloaded with WinHTTtrack as it would be a duplicate of what the public could reach via their browsers.

Not an answer to your question but a possible work around.

What about any server-side scripts? Those would be lost if the server's hard drive was erased.
