Dynamic Drop down boxes – and display of last field

Hello all, my first posting here, so I hope it is OK!

I am trying to set up dynamic drop down boxes – usual story:-

Select from Drop down box 1, and contents of drop down box 2 alters to fit.

I then want to have user select the option from drop down box 2, and have that displayed on the page. That is the bit that is defeating me totally!

e.g

DDbox1 -> Select Manufacturer DDBox2 -> Select Model Display Part No.

Any ideas please?

As far as the data is concerned, I am also going to be working with large(ish) data sets, without access to a database, so what is the best way to go please? And how do I do it!? Is an XML file the best way, but I have NO idea how to get that data into the select boxes. Help??

I am not a coding expert at all, so please be gentle with me, but I am not afraid to alter code that I can basically understand!!
