PHP editor

I am looking for a free, but descent php/text editor to replace windows notepad.
I want it to be able to do PHP code highlighting and possibly have a debugging tool.

If anybody has a favorite please let me know what it is..even if it isn’t free.

Now, if you were willing to pay for one, I'd safe up my money, and get dreamweaver. It is second to none in my opinion. My neighbor has it, and I love it.

Fine if you intend to use many of its other features and can afford the $399.00 price tag. :eek: If all you're looking for is an editor with context-sensitive text colors and other typical programming editor functions, there are plenty of open-source choices out there.

Also Firefox has an extension:

I think that this extension could be configured to be used in NVU, since NVU is based from Firefox.
