Setting the target for a form action??

The title pretty much says it;
Is it possible to directly set a target for a form’s action?
I have tried a base tag and that works in FF and Camino (havn’t tested many others yet). But I know that Safari doesn’t like it and jsut chooses _top as the target.

So is there any specific way to do this?

@KravvitzSep 14.2006 — Why don't you just give the <form> the target attribute?

That's allowed in HTML 4.01 Transitional and XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
