cookie script advice

Hi guys – I tried to find if this had been answered before but couldnt!

I am building a site where there will be a flash video playing when you open the index page (I know….but thats what the client wants…).

I am trying to set a cookie so that repeat visitors are recognised and forwarded automatically to a duplicate index page but without the autoplay flash video.

I have meta refresh script but its the cookie script leading into it (if possible) that I cant get my head around! ?

Any help MUCH appreciated.
