RSS to Javascript ticker

I have done a search, but nothing seems to answer my question.

I would like a fairly plain news ticker on my site, either one that appears to ‘type itself’ or one that scrolls as a marquee. I like the one on this site here: [url]http://www.howtodothings.com/computers/a835-javascript-news-ticker.html[/url]

I tried putting it onto a test page here and it doesn’t seem to work:
[url]http://www.s104638357.websitehome.co.uk/html/index_ticker.htm[/url]
It should appear where the word [b]News:[/b] is on the 3rd box down on the right.

I was wondering if people here could either;

  • 1. Diagnose what the problem with the code I have used is, as I’m sure it is probably my fault (!)

  • 2. Suggest a good code that does the same; I would ideally like it to be customisable, not use PHP and not to have advertising
