On THIS PAGE, and every other page that has the sponsors flash clip in the upper left corner, it overlaps the dropdown menu for ‘Products’.
Is there any way to correct this? I appreciate any and all help to resolve this.
@toicontienAug 31.2006 — #Nope. Flash objects are rendered at the window layer of your Web page because an external application is needed to render Flash. This means Flash and embedded media players will always ride over top of any HTML element (which includes your dropdown menus). The only way to get around this is to hide the Flash object when you mouse over a menu item whose sub menu needs to ride over top of the Flash object.
@toicontienSep 01.2006 — #That may be true for Internet Explorer. Most times, the OBJECT tag is what IE reads, since it references a class Id and therefore becomes an ActiveX object, and the EMBED tag is read by other browsers.
You may also find Flash Satay an interesting read over at A List Apart. Still doesn't solve your problem, but good info. It may only be in IE that you can turn wmode to transparent (stands for window mode?).
Thus far I've had no luck in layering objects in non IE-Win browsers. I'll have to try the wmode trick. You may even try adding wmode="transparent" to the EMBED tag too.
