After inspiration.

Hi all! Not really a question, I’m just after inspiration. One section on the website homepage is news items and the owner wants the title of this section to attract more attention to itself than the other more static sections. He has asked for scrolling text or similar to highlight it. (Kind of like the news feed at the bottom of your TV screen.) Any ideas what effect I could use instead that is very subtle (I hate anything that blinks or scrolls) but would draw attention to itself? I have a few ideas but would love to hear some others.

@netbuddyAug 24.2006 — In its simplest of terms, visual queues are better of kept simple like if your advert or target is blinked, or back ground flashed in an inverted colour, this usually is enoug stimuli to attract attention.

If the visual queue was quick enough, a random delay will have the person keeping an eye open for the effect again, reenforcing the visitors attention and intrest in the site.

I did something in psycology about visual queueing, to put it simple... people see flashes more readily than scrolling!
