Javascript link won’t open

Javascript links do not open, or they open briefly, then close.
My Javascript is enabled in IE thru: Tools, Internet options, security, custom level, scripting, Active scripting and Scripting of Java applets are both enabled.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

@A1ien51Aug 18.2006 — How are the links being created? We need to see some code since we are not mind reader who can see stuff hidden. (I wish I was one so I could make a lot of money! No more black boxes) Is this happening on any webpage you visit or one that you coded.

I am assuming it is a pop up window that you are creating.

Do you have a pop up blocker installed? What is it settings?

If you coded it:

Are you doing this onclick or with some other event?

There are a lot of questions to your question. Hopefully you can clear them up so we can help you out and solve your issue!

@cwtlrauthorAug 18.2006 — Thank you for your reply.

The problem occurs in many different forms. Web page links do not open or open, then close. Links from email (ie Webdeveloper) do not open. I have to copy the link, then paste it into the browser address line.

The links from IE (javascript:cnnVideo('play','/video/us/2006/08/18/kvoa.clown.robbers.affl') is an example, usually don't open. Some others do. Yes, some of the ones in IE are popup windows. The links from emails are not.

No, I am not talking about something that I coded. I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag.

When I go to the McAfee or Dell web site to try to get help, it's impossible because the links they provide don't open. These are links that should open IE, or other pages in IE but don't.

I've tried turning off the pop-up blocker in IE. I've also tried turning it off in McAfee. No change.

I hope this is a little more clear. If not, I'll try to answer more questions.

@A1ien51Aug 18.2006 — What is your email client. Is it hotmail? I know they force you to click a link saying that it is a "Known Sender" before the links work. If you do not do this, the links just appear as blue text.
