how to disable the ability to select text with js?

Hello,

Consider the following [URL=http://localhost/dragtest/test.html]example[/URL] in both IE and FF. You’ll noticed when onmousedown, IE auto select text, empty spaces whereever you move your mouse. While FF won’t (which is what I wanted).

I’m not sure if this needs to be handle using CSS or javascript. Since this selecting behavior only happens on IE, I’m thinking maybe I need a script to stop IE from selecting text.

Would anyone please share a sample script with me please?
