Database Backup generator

hi,i am wondering how do i go about creating a database backup generator that backs up database manually and automatically without the user having to go into phpmyadmin?

How will i go about this?

@NogDogAug 14.2006 — I would think you'd want to use the [url=http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysqldump.html]msyqldump[/url] command-line utility via a cron job. (This assumes it's a MySQL DB, as implied by your statement about phpMyAdmin?)
