2 small items that I need help with…

I had posted a few days ago, and got some really useful help from a user (Natdrip – thanks!), but there are just a couple minor things I need to wrap up, and soon. I am too new at javascript to understand what Natdrip was trying to say in his/her last response. The post is here:

Can anyone help me fix the 2 remaining issues? Seems like it’d be a very simple solution… for someone with a little more knowlege than me!
