Adding Doctype Affects Font Size

Hi,

I’m trying to start using a doctype on my pages, but I’ve found that both html4.01 strict and transitional both cause all of the text on my pages to become microscopically small. ? The page in question validates except for the fact that it’s missing the doctype.

I’m using percentages for font sizes, so is there something I need to be aware of when it comes to doctypes and font rendering?

I'm using percentages so that the text can be resized by the user. Using pixels in css doesn't allow for that.

I prefer using EMs instead of percentages.
