Allowing user to stop marquee

Okay, the <marquee> command is html, not sure if the solution is css though so apologies if it is.

I’m wanting to have a rolling ticker – probably using the marquee command.

Is there a way I can have a user stop this. I thought it may be possible to have a button to disable the CSS, but this will lose my other CSS stipulations. Is there a way I can put a button that can change the linked CSS so I can have one identical apart from it disables the ticker??

Are there any other (simpler) solutions??

@felgallAug 03.2006 — Most browsers ignore the <marquee> anyway since it is not valid HTML but rather Internet Explorer proprietary code (some other browsers also read it but not all). To get a cross browser marquee you need to set up a <span> or <div> and then use Javascript to scroll the contents. This also gives you the ability to completely control the scroll.
