so the client can locate the html and enter the text and update the pics from an editor.

Any help with this would be amazing.

Thanking you in advance.

@AlbatrossJul 31.2006 — Sorry, I was referring to the background images in my previous post.

@ray326Jul 31.2006 — Looks pretty straight forward as long as the client is flexible on the fonts.

@a_g_r_cauthorJul 31.2006 — well yeah, the client hasnt seen this and didnt have many specifications... is it possible to get a font close to this embeded in the css or do you have to use the standards?

also, is it possible to offset the text to make it at an angle and still be able to copy and paste the text?

Thanks Ray.

@SiddanJul 31.2006 — closest font I know from my head is comic sans, the name might be different with macintosh computers.

Css do not have any offset feature that you requiested, perhaps some javascript code might do the trick

btw.

You might perhaps wanna try doing that site in flash instead, and use dynamic text which is imported to the pages from a simple txt file

I reckon some posts that could help a flash site being indexed from search engines.

@a_g_r_cauthorAug 01.2006 — yeh comic sans has a cartoony feel about it, the look here i was going for is hand written. I read somewhere that you can tell a css to look for a font in a machine, then if it doesnt have it you can point it to another, then lastly if it doesnt have that one you can go for a generic. Is this possible?

Thanks.

@SiddanAug 01.2006 — ah you were fast before my edited message, hehe

yes you can simply set fonts to priority levels like this,

font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif

Hi,

if i were to do this in flash and have a dynamic text file..... would it be possible for the client to update his journal on the road in only notepad and ftp? (no flash at all)

sounds very interesting.

Thanks

@SiddanAug 02.2006 — i believe so, By only updating the desired textfile and then uploading it, the flashpage will display the new text read from that particular textfile.

That is however beyond my knowledge
