Logging errors to file

I’ve seen discussion threads on this topic, but I can’t seem to locate them via a site search. My host does not displaying PHP errors on the browser. All I want to do is send those same errors to a file.

@NogDogJul 29.2006 — All pertinent functions are here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.errorfunc.php . Which you choose will depend on whether you're talking about explicitly trapping and reporting errors with error_log(), and/or automatically directing PHP run-time errors via your own custom function and the set_error_handler() function.
