Ajax issue PLEASE HELP!

Hey gang,

I am trying to develop a carousel widget just like the one used on Yahoo.
I have done somewhat of a descent job in doing this. However I am currently using a simple array to populate the list of items. I really want to use Ajax to populate the items.
I have attached the script I am currently working on and was hoping somebody could give me some ideas on how to use Ajax in this situation.
