@PeOfEoJun 22.2003 — #Ok for starters to find good freeware go to www.tucows.com or www.download.com And your site has issues. For one you are using a text box for you news. Why? If you want a scroll bar use an iframe. It is also easyer to manage when the news is on a separate page. Your links need work, You need to make the hover links because its very bland. You are using a table based layout and I see some nesting going on. This is bad you should be using css. You should make an actual banner image instead of a title because it would look a whole lot nicer. But those are just my opinions.
@David_HarrisonJun 22.2003 — #To look at I thought it was OK, however if you wrote the IQ test I'd either make the questions a bit harder or give lower scores because although I only got 3 ques wrong I know for a fact that my IQ is not 144.

Does anyone know of any good freeware programs I could fot in on my site at www.appsoftheweb.com
If so please tell me! Otherwise, please comment my page (layout etc.)
Dull color scheme and logo. Use CSS hover links.
You also need to add a LOT more freeware and categories (i.e. Web Development) to make this site competitive. I suggested researching the best freeware site, http://www.freewarehome.com,">http://www.freewarehome.com, and inserting the programs that look most interesting to you.
@PeOfEoJun 23.2003 — #Focus on your news area! its in a text box that depressing. Seriously consider moving it too and Iframe it will make it look a whole lot better. A text box just is not going to cut it man.
I was also going to suggest Irfan Viewer and Ad-Aware but I see you already have those. As has been said before, your color scheme, logo/banner, and news section could use some work. The colors you have are really dark/dull. Try something a little brighter or sharp. It seems like you just picked a bunch of random colors and slapped the hex codes in there without trying to make them blend or contrast in any particular way. And if you're going to leave the news in that textarea, you could at least make it a bit longer (heightwise) so that you can actually read a little bit without having to scroll. Well, I hope you found some of that helpful!
