javascript hidden field

I’m trying to change some hidden field values during onbeforeunload…Except when i get the same page back (after a postback)…the hidden fields are not maintaining the values. I’ve know they’re changing (i’ve used just text fields to test)…but they always come back reverted back to orginal.

Is there something that doesn’t allow javascript to do this…cuz it works if i just type in these fields.

What am i missing here?
