Time since an action?

I wish to write something, such as…

You registered 4 days, 6 hours, 3 minutes and 2 seconds ago.

But i dont know how to do this. I know how to display the current time – and i know how to find the number of seconds since the action was carried out. However i dont know how to convert that into a more meaningful days, hours minutes etc output.

Thank you for any help ?
