Is it possible to parse another HTML page?

Hi,

I’m new to Javascript and have a question and I’m not sure how difficult the answer actually is!

Is it possible to parse HTML from another page, searching for strings contained within the HTML of the page?

The other page could be located on another site.

Is this possible using Javascript and are there any legal complications of parsing someone else’s site?
